«Away from all the constraints of university projects, how can I improve my design work?»
This question is what we, a group of students, asked ourselves. We wanted to learn more, be completely unrestricted and able to learn through our mistakes – Our project called "Design Tuesday" was born. We met up every Tuesday with little tasks and challenges and learned how to take feedback and how to manage our time with only a week between the tasks. Personally I must say it helped me immensely with my design process. I get to think more outside of the box, learned how to take criticism and got a whole different perspective on design itself. Here you can see some of the things that I have done.
(click poster to listen) Task 594x841 bpm. Create a poster in which you use form, color, typography, arrangement, momentum and information content and translate this into a digital poster design. The next step involves finding a sound that auditory expands and completes the visual form
I chose the feeling of euphoria combined with dance. To project the euphoric feeling a chose a frequency that makes you feel a little weird combined with the hypnotic turn of the colorful circle.
Task Design a web concept for a topic of your choice.
I chose a web appearance for a fictional bar/lounge. (visual identity workshop withNico Brand)
Task choose a font and make as many things as possible.
I happen to choose the font "Neuzeit Grotesk" and created a poster series that dealt with color and photography.
Task Take this mockup and create fun condom designs.
Poster Party Here is a compilation of a couple of posters that I made throughout the Design Tuesday time.
