«What annoys you most about your experience with iPad Applications?»
This is the main question we asked ourselves in order to find an application for the iPad that we wanted to redesign. We chose the Dropbox iPad Version. The problems we have noticed are that the actual user experience on the iPad itself was not as great as it was on the desktop. We felt the whole layout itself was off and not as natural as you would expect it. So we chose to try and better the complex application.
Crucial things we have changed were the dark mode as well as the file structure. We felt a dark mode would provide the user with more individuality in their use of the application while also giving your eye a chance to rest if you happen to work at night (what most of us do at some point...)
The file structure helped us understand the purpose of dropbox a lot more. You have shared and private files, as well as files you can't edit, but see. For us it made sense to create a hierarchy that made the experience more clear and give it more structure. Furthermore we have created an elaborate comment and preview window that makes cooperative work much easier. The video shows the whole user journey.
